At Coastal Chains, we believe your permanent jewelry should be lived in! Our 14k gold-filled and sterling silver pieces are designed to be worn every day, but just like any jewelry, they can collect oils, lotion, sunscreen, and everyday buildup over time.

The good news? Keeping your Coastal Chains jewelry looking beautiful and shiny is easy, and you probably already have everything you need at home!

What You’ll Need

You only need three simple things:

Step-by-Step: How to Clean Your Permanent Jewelry

1. Mix Warm Water & Dawn

Fill a small bowl with warm water and add a small drop of Dawn dish soap. You don’t need much β€” a little goes a long way!

2. Gently Brush Your Jewelry

Dip a soft toothbrush into the soapy water and gently brush your permanent jewelry. Pay special attention to areas where lotion, sunscreen, or dirt may collect, including around charms and between the links of your chain.

There’s no need to scrub aggressively. A gentle cleaning is all it takes to remove everyday buildup.

3. Rinse Thoroughly

Once you’ve gently cleaned your jewelry, rinse it with clean water to remove any remaining soap.

4. Dry Completely

Pat your jewelry dry with a soft, clean cloth and allow it to completely dry.

That’s it! Your jewelry should look fresh, clean, and shiny again.

Keep Your Coastal Chains Sparkling

Because permanent jewelry is meant to be worn every day, it’s completely normal for it to lose some of its shine after being exposed to things like sunscreen, lotions, sweat, makeup, and everyday activities.

A quick cleaning every so often can help keep your jewelry looking its best.

And remember β€” you don’t have to take your Coastal Chains jewelry off to enjoy life! Wear it to the beach, on vacation, during your workouts, and through all of life’s everyday moments.
