Does Getting Permanent Jewelry Hurt?
Not at all! The quick welding process never touches your skin. You’ll simply hold still for a few seconds while we securely weld your jewelry in place.
How Long Does A Permanent Jewelry Appointment Take?
Most appointments take about 15–30 minutes, depending on how many pieces you’re getting and whether you’re adding charms.
Do I Need An Appointment?
Appointments are recommended to guarantee your preferred time, especially on weekends. Walk-ins are always welcome whenever we’re available, so feel free to stop by if you’re nearby.
Can I Just Stop By?
Yes! We’d love to see you. Walk-ins are welcome when we’re available, but booking ahead is the best way to guarantee your spot.
Where Is Coastal Chains Located?
Our permanent jewelry studio is located at 474 King Street in Charleston, South Carolina, upstairs above Mother’s Ruin.

Can I Add Charms To My Permanent Jewelry?
Yes! Choose from our growing collection of charms to personalize your bracelet, anklet, necklace, or hand chain. You can also return later to add more charms.
Can Permanent Jewelry Be Removed?
Yes. Permanent jewelry can easily be removed by cutting the small jump ring with scissors or jewelry cutters. If you’d like it re-welded later, simply bring it back to us.
Can I Shower, Swim, Or Work Out In My Permanent Jewelry?
Yes! Our jewelry is designed for everyday wear, including showering, swimming, exercising, and enjoying the beach.
Can I Wear Permanent Jewelry Through Airport Security?
Yes. Permanent jewelry is TSA-friendly and does not need to be removed for airport security.
What Happens If My Permanent Jewelry Breaks Or Stretches?
We offer a free re-weld within 30 days of your appointment. After that, we charge a small re-weld fee. Just bring your chain back in.
Will My Permanent Jewelry Tarnish?
